I was on the phone to my dad today and he said. Im just sitting in the garden and there is a duck hurtling towards me and i think its going to nip me on the leg. And I said, what garden? and he said THE garden, your garden. Confused, I thought, MY garden? So i said "what?" And he said I'm in your great great grandfathers garden, which is also your garden. Something in my brain tingled, I felt I knew what he was talking about but I didn't know any of the W's  (who, what, where, why)

My great great grandfather George Francis (who is so old that they only have paintings of him on the interweb, no photos) was the first director of the Adelaide Botanical gardens. After my dad explained that to me, I felt annoyed because I actually knew about this the whole time and I just forgot.

He also was the editor of the journal "Science and Art" which I believe is to be the 18th century form of blogging. So we are samies. I will award him with this months FAFA award. And as he can not make it today, due to the fact that he died in 1865, I will accept the award on his behalf.

some days the flower markets are bizzier than a strip bar in kings cross at 4 am on a saturday morning. sometimes i think the flower market shoppers are still drunk, slippin around on slippery surfaces and yelling out CRAZY DAISY. I bet the growers think im still drunk when I go, Im usually dressed in something rediculous (ie leopard print jeans, stripe jumper and polka dot socks with sandals) and my hair is standing up on end like ive been electrocuted by an underwater electric fence. but they always smile and seem happy to see me. I think its because I brush my teeth before I leave for the market, I have become aware that a lot of people do not. however, I don't think i'd talk to me...I think I look about as fresh as a dead daisy that early in the morning

My mum has a gardener, his name is Doug. I think that its hilarious and anytime I tell somone they dont laugh. Don't they get it? She has very cute weird things growing in the garden. She also has a bench that sits under a frangipani tree, and every time I go to visit my mum she reminds me that I cant sit on it because it might break

most of my friends can play an instrument. and they are pretty darn good at it. I myself, had years of piano lessons and have never hit the keys past the age of 12. the other day a new friend said to me, if you dont play music then what do you do? and i replied "well new friend, i have a very serious hobby" I guess that while mylee and ozzie are at home writing love songs to each other, the cellist is celling, and vaughan is ukulele'ing  his face off and cowboy & ray are drumming away, i am playing dress ups with flowers and creating giant flower signs to take to parties.

heaven on earth has been located! its just next to the sea plane place at palm beach.

this place makes you want to wear a sweater over your shoulders and knot it at the front. it makes you want to quit your job and be rich. it makes you wish your name were esmerelda. the indoors feel like out doors, and the out doors make you feel bad for not devoting your entire life to casual gardening. the boat house is literally the bee sneeze and i think we should have a flower drum FAFA meeting there. are you coming??

welcome back from mexico bomb

i made this flower bomb for cathys birthday. i walked in the door and said happy birthday cathy! and then she said "its not my birthday!" Luckily these bombs are very versatile. 

It went from being a birthday bomb to a welcome back from mexico bomb!

it was my brothers birthday yesterday. i didnt make him a bomb. i feel a bit bad.
